Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

B SHAWN CLARK I was on a self-imposed writer's retreat where I had sent myself and my sister (she is also a writer) to New Paltz to do research into ancestors of ours and an incident where they had been taken captive by the Esopus in the 1690s.

While there I did an outline for a fictional account of the incident from the perspective of two boys (one Esopus, the other a Huguenot) and their respective relationships to animals in their life.

When the 3-day writing contest arose in September, 2019, I penned the work, called Red Wolfe. It should come out in late 2020.
