Write what you are moved to write. What is the point of writing to market? Remember, people usually enjoy doing things that they are good at doing.

I am finishing up final line edits to a book hopefully coming out this summer (depending on the mood of the pandemic). It is hard to promote a book when people are confined at home unable to go to bookstores. I am also getting Red Wolfe edited, doing a few book reviews and finishing up short stories I have outlined but have not quite gotten to yet.
I am also applying for a month long artist retreat on a small island in the Dry Tortugas as part of an artists in residence program sponsored by the US park service. The parks are closed at this writing so we shall see . . .

I was on a self-imposed writer's retreat where I had sent myself and my sister (she is also a writer) to New Paltz to do research into ancestors of ours and an incident where they had been taken captive by the Esopus in the 1690s.
While there I did an outline for a fictional account of the incident from the perspective of two boys (one Esopus, the other a Huguenot) and their respective relationships to animals in their life.
When the 3-day writing contest arose in September, 2019, I penned the work, called Red Wolfe. It should come out in late 2020.
