Do you recommend this book for a 16 yr old girl? The girl read Room a few years ago and wasn't upset about the upsetting stuff and actually loved the book.

Otherwise, no. I would have bought into the whole narrative as a teenager esp as someone who has experience with this stuff, so I'm glad I'm reading it now and can see it for what it is. I'm not advocating for teenagers not to read difficult and provocative work but pairing it with real discussions with an adult would be helpful.(less)
