It's a fabulous book that raises important issues but perspective is everything in this novel. Adult readers quickly realise that the protagonist's point-of-view is unreliable. She romanticises the abuse she suffers as a coping mechanism. I would hate to think of a teenage girl reading the book and not understanding this. I'm not sure if I would have fully grasped this at 16.(less)
