How do you balance world building and character scenes? I was enchanted by how well you handled "the broken earth" trilogy (even if the first book does start a little slow bc of world building mechanics).

That's just part of writing, and it's not something I can easily answer. It's also relative to writer and reader. I think of the beginning of TBE as quick, frex, because the apocalypse happens on p. 2! But everyone's mileage varies, obvs.

Following your social media I have observed the raw energy and passion you have for a myriad of subjects, which may come across as provocative, bringing trolls out of the woodwork, but I don't see it as "in-your-face" in your work. Have you ever felt the need to tone down your passion so that it is accepted by a wider audience or is it that the 400 pages allow you the time needed to explore a subject from many angles?
