Dante's Inferno. I find his interpretation so intriguing. I always loved ideas that can't be thought of off the top of your head. Inspired by religious beliefs, and dream-like characters and ideas, the world he created is so unique and different from the norm. The multi-layer metaphorical representations of the underworld are ahead of their time.
