Hi Carl - I'll give you four quotes:
1. Talent is important to success. So is timing. But often, the foundation of success for an author begins with unfailing tenacity.
2. Why hesitate to call yourself a writer? Did you put words on paper? Great, now you’re a writer!
3. I didn’t have connections or formal training. I never took a creative writing class or had a writing mentor. What I did have was stories alive in my head, honest critique partners, and hundreds of pages of terrible writing before I began to produce something good. I am proof that you can start from anywhere and break in as an author.
4. A writer absolutely needs confidence to succeed in this business. But ego is different. Too much ego will kill a writer’s talent.
