Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Paula R.C. Readman The Funeral Birds started life as a BBC Short Story Competition entry. I set aside after it failed to be selected with the idea of turning it into a novel. The characters are based on my neighbours who are a loving older married couple. Dave and Joan have been very supportive of my writing. They have a deep loving relationship and I wanted that at the heart of my book. Of course, in ‘The Funeral Birds’ there’s a witch, a Murder, mystery, and mayhem.
