There's the writing aspect of being a writer and the reader response aspect of being a writer. When it's just me and the story, I love being in control of the circumstances, the characters, and everything that's going on. Writing is the only setting in which you can play God and have full control over everything in that world.
On the flip side of releasing it, it brings me so much joy to see the reviews of readers and the responses of those who have read and enjoyed my work. There's a special thrill that comes when a reader will casually refer to a character's name as if the character is real. I love it!
