Mary-ann asked J.D. Barker:

Someone on FB posted that she was currently reading Harlan Coban's Tell No One and the alias of one of the characters is made up by taking her middle name as her first name and the name of the road she grew up on as her surname. Have you as an author ever considered this idea to invent a character's name? Think it would be fun to choose a name that way.

J.D. Barker Ha, no, I haven't tried that. I usually figure out how old my character is, then Google popular baby names from the year they were "born." For surnames, I have a copy of the white pages on my desk and I pick one at random that fits with their ethnicity.
