Madison Maler (anxious.librarian) asked Jordan L. Hawk:

I recently discovered the Whyborne and Griffin series and I am just astounded with the amount of detail and thought you've put into these books. How long does research often take you? Do you have any sort of process?

Jordan L. Hawk Thank you! Research can vary a lot, but I generally give myself four weeks to do preliminary work. If I find I need to know something more during the writing of the story, I either stop and look it up (if important) or make a note and find it after the first draft is done.
