I loved The Book of Candlelight! This series is so interesting - I loved everything about this book. Though I was a little disappointed about Pat & Lou :) . I'd assumed from the beginning that they were a couple, and when Nora brought up the question I realized that we didn't really know. I'm curious - why did you choose to make them best friends rather than partners?

Hi Kelli,
Lou and Pat are loosely modeled after former neighbors. They always kept people guessing as far as the nature of their relationship. I got to know them quite well, and they loved each other - it was plain to see - and though they weren't a coupe, I wanted to highlight the satisfactory nature of platonic love. Basically, I wanted to show that not all relationships need to be sexual to be fulfilling and rewarding and that two friends can make aging a gentler, less lonely process.

Hello Ellery, I just finished reading The secret, book and scone society and I was so intrigued by the story. I finished the book in one day staying awake most of the night. When can we expect to read the next book in the series? Also how many books are you going to include in the series?
