(view spoiler)[I want to start off by saying that I love your books I found the Shadow Dance series when I was 15 and I've been hooked with your writing ever since following that my favorite character has always been Haern and I'm wondering if he will ever make a reappearance like even as a spirit in like book 8 or 9? Im just curious since as far as I can decipher book 9 might involve Zusa along with her and Haerns child. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[With Haern featuring heavily in eleven books of mine, more than any other character I've written, it's hard for me to feel like there's a lot to do with the him, plus I made it abundantly clear he had died, and stayed dead. I know I like to play around with bringing characters back, but he's one I am certain will never change. For good or bad, that is where his story ends, and teasing people with, say, an angel appearance just feels a little mean. Personally for me, it's also not the same as, for example, Darius's appearance in the Half-Orcs. With someone like Darius, it felt like there was a lot more to do with him, but his time had come.
You are correct about Zusa and the kiddo coming to book 9. Haern will, in a sense, feature incredibly prominently in that story, not as a character himself, but more of a concept. The current storyline in my head very much involves Haern's child trying to figure out just who their father was, what the Watcher represented, what he accomplished, etc. It'll probably be my first real look back at Shadowdance in years, and I'm looking forward to it.
Given all that, there's a good chance then that you get, say, some flashbacks or memories involving Haern in book nine. I'm not sure if that'll be what you're looking for, but I hope this gives you at least an idea of my thought process on all this. (hide spoiler)]
