Goodreads asked Freddy Cruz:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Freddy Cruz Do the work. Even when you don't want to. Never, EVER, wait for the muse. Park your butt in that seat and write. Seth Godin once said, and I'm paraphrasing, "write enough bad words (not profanity) and the good ones will appear." If you don't have time, make it. If you don't make it, then you transforming that idea into a story isn't as important as you think it is. And that's okay. But if it IS important, then you must treat it as a job. And as with any job, you have to show up. Even when you don't feel like it.
