Hello Ms Bujold! I have been a huge fan of your work for some time, thanks to Anne McCaffrey (she practically threw Komarr at me). I wanted to congratulate you on your recent news, and ask if you find it constricting to be constantly asked to provide yet another Vorkosigan novel, despite your success with other story arcs in other worlds?
Lois McMaster Bujold
Mm, not constricting. I've had decades of practice at resisting other people's suggestions for what I should write. And at least it shows they're interested.
I notice my answers to that frequently asked question are getting shorter and shorter, though.
More bemusing are the ones that come with suggested outlines. Um, that's not how my process works, folks...

I'm finishing my second read of the Vorkosigan Saga and loving A Civil Campaign—it’s been a while since a book made me laugh this much! Quick question: Did the comconsoles emerge because mobile smartphones didn't yet exist, or was it intentional to keep the internet "as a place" (like desktop computers)? Thank you :)

When coming up with the concept of the "black gang" for Mark, did you do any psychology research first, was there some personal experience at play, or is it strictly what you've absorbed from the media? Either way it's pretty convincing. Reading his internal monologues and external explanations has helped me have compassion for a loved one recently diagnosed with trauma-based dissociative identity, so thank you!

Thank you for your life's work. I have been especially taken by the world of the five gods. I just reread Masquerade in Lodi and remain slightly puzzled on P/D's move to Adria. The reasons for his leaving are clear enough -- loss of his two mothers; new archdivine with sorcerer; mismatch with the role of sorcerer-physician etc. But why Adria? D's interest in going there? Met the archdivine of Adria somewhere?
