I have worked in cult apologetics since the 70's. Although I don't believe the Amish are a full blown cult, they certainly are cultic. The Swartzentruber, which were the group you joined (by baptism), is probably a cult, however, They certainly are a destructive, mind control group. My question is, have you ever encountered the "New Order Amish," and how do you feel about that particular group?

I know quite a few people who have left the New Order Amish. They have many of the same beliefs as the Amish, they are just allowed to have a few modern conveniences.
