Desertlass asked:

Okay. I'm a bit worried by the cover. I have read most of everything the Andrews team has written, but I'm not really into PR. Is this more graphic than past novels? The Kate Daniels series tops it for me in terms of swearing and the The Edge series tops it for me in terms of bedroom scenes (or shed scenes, or whatever). Where does this book fit in on the I'm-a-prude scale?

Briar The cover did not do this book justice and I suspect the person who chose the cover didn't actually read the book. They probably heard words "heroine," "hero," "Burn for Me" and decided to make a cheesy PR cover. However, let me be clear. I would not classify this as PR. This is an epic urban-fantasy series that I can not wait to see more of.
mirba thank you for writing the question. I would not have read the book if not for the answers you're getting, cause I'm quite fed up with the pnr books as well and the cover screams pnr.
Nessa HAAAAAA! You had the same fear as me! I saw the cover and was like..."Really?" But I had faith, because I have LOVED every book ever written by this duo. I bought it anyway on faith alone, and they did NOT disappoint. Don't let the cover scare you, it was an awesome read. Can't wait for the next!
(Oh and there was some cursing, and some "hot" spots, but clothes stayed on in all of the "heated" scenes.)
Monica You know what they say, "Never judge a book by its cover"
Lisa The cover stinks. Luckily I preordered the kindle editions so I was not put off. I love the authors and ordered it blind.

The cover artist did not read the book. No where in the book did the heroine wear anything like that. (she is a jeans and sneakers type) Men in the book did appear shirtless, but that was treated with some derision.

I cannot compare it to the other books exactly, but I think it is okay. There is swearing, but it is not the central people, it sort of fits rather than 'in your face' like some.

I think the future books may have more heat.
Susan Ilona actually doesn't like the cover herself. The original cover is on her blog, if you want to see it. This book has cussing and stuff, but it isn't as bad as some of the other books have been, if that is what you are worried about. If you were fine with Kate Daniels and the Edge, you'll be fine with this.
Anna It's a cross between the two series. There's a lot of feeling hot under the collar and a bedroom scene that you could avoid. Sexual details refers to how the heroine is feeling (fairly explicitly) when she is near him rather than what the guy is doing. More frequent than in Kate Daniels but you can skip it.
Can't help you on the language front as I didn't notice it-so go with other people's radar if you're sensitive that way.
Nat If you're talking about a sex scene, you're probably at about the same level. If you're referring to innuendo, it's more frequent than other works by these authors. And if you're referring to language (F-word), it's definitely higher in this novel (I admit this is one that makes me cringe a bit).

Desertlass PR is short for Paranormal Romance.
George Found the rejected cover, thanks to Ladylove. Both of them fully dressed, and Rogan actually looks as big, muscular, and dangerous as he should, which is not the case with the accepted cover.

As for Desertlass's question: The sexual attraction is essential to the plot, and Nevada keeps melting like snow. If you don't like reading about that, you can just skip to the next paragraph, the way my mother used to do on her recorded books from the Library of Congress.
Julie Skip! There's graphic sex scenes in the next two books of this series.
Alice I LOVE this book. The cover is terrible. The authors have said that they are frustrated by the covers.
Ladylove look up the rejected cover that's a better representation of the book
Judith Weaver Nessa covers it below pretty well. This is a romance novel after all, but not erotica.

hIpnoticraQs Hmmm, looks like I need to pick up a few things up from the library.
Jyotsana Singh I'm reading this book right now and I went into it expecting it to fulfill my hot and bothered needs. But I'm surprised by how not bad it is... its kinda smart. The cover doesn't do it justice at all. Given a hot dragon is mentioned multiple times but please don't be dissuaded by the cover!!!!
Denyse Prendergast The books are YA, aren't they? By definition, there's no graphic sex, swearing, or violence.
Meaghan I don't think book cover artists ever actually read the book. I read one book that the cover art depicted a brief, unimportant scene in the book. Another gave the main character the wrong color hair. Another gave the female protagonist large breasts and revealing clothes when the whole point of the character was about her having a small body and modest clothes because she was a rogue that hid in the shadows.
