Our book group recently read " A Gentleman in Moscow", which we all loved! One of our members noticed that each of the chapter titles begins with the letter "A". We would like to know if this was intentional, and if so, what is the reason? Thank you!

You apparently received a masters in English from Stanford. I just went to a lecture that linked Steinbeck's experiences at Stanford (again mostly English classes) and various aspects of his fiction. Are there any links between Stanford and your current writing....just curious?

Mr. Towles - We loved The Lincoln Highway but were shocked and disappointed to see you casually traffic in grossly antisemitic tropes. The statements (p.214) of Jews that "could hardly be trusted to give him a fair price" and needing to ensure that Billy "wasn't taken advantage of" by Jews (p.215) were entirely gratuitous and beneath a man of your intellect and sophistication. Why would you use such language?

Hello Amor, absolutely loved reading your book "Gentleman in Moscow"- so much so that every time I restricted myself to read only a certain number of pages each day. Your use of language and describing certain feelings were just brilliant. I recently saw that you actually had a layout of the story already when you had your idea, I am curious as to know what that initial layout looked like and how did you structure it?
