Daisy Okay, I want to start by saying I am 100% Team Sokeefe. If you disagree, and that's totally fine, just hear me out. (P.S. this is going to be long, [like, mini-book long {since I rely somewhat on logic and reason} {but really great}] so get ready)

Once upon a time, I was totally Team Fitz, end of discussion. But. . . my perspective changed once I got to the end of 8.5 (I was totally converted to Team Keefe when Sophitz broke up). Ahem, I will now give you a mini lesson (that's actually legit) on the "in love" feeling followed by reasons why Fitz maybe isn't the best option and why you should ship Keefe with Sophie.

Note: the following research isn’t mine, I do not own it, nor do I take credit for discovering, and I, sadly, cannot remember the actual psychologist who figured it out, and all I can say is that the research is not mine.
There is no such thing as "love at first sight". The attraction you feel, or rather you think you feel, is an obsession. Not like the 'Oh my gosh, I live and breath this', but it's not truly 'loving' someone. Love at first sight is seeing someone and liking their behavior, appearance, or something on the outside (it should be noted that you are incapable at finding a fault in them, or else, able to overlook that fault as something good rather than something bad [this part is not by the unsaid psychologist but by my personal experience]). When you really get to know someone, their true self comes out (unless they're reeeaaally good at hiding it). Whether their true self is good or bad, it will most likely unearth. You may like a person for how they look, but when you start hanging out with them, they may have habits that are not so good, or they might treat lesser people differently than superiors and equals. OR they might be less attractive on the outside, but when you start spending time with someone, you find out they're really nice or considerate, or just generally fun to be around. OR they might be attractive and a great person #luckyduck. Now, whether or not your obsession with that certain person may morph into dislike or genuine affection, only time will tell (along with your personal preferences and what you will or will not tolerate).

Wasn't that great? (this is where my logic completely takes over and the psychologists evidence stops [thank you])

Now let's move on to Keefe vs Fitz.

In order for me to explain why I am not on Team Fitz, I must first say this; Fitz is a great friend/person, and I admit, I was obsessed (as previously mentioned above) with him as soon as Sophie layed eyes on him. But (also as previously mentioned above) as I got to know some of the habits that he tends to have, I leaned more to the Keefe side. Now the list of negatives: (P.S. I would still be on Team Fitz if not for these, so think of this list as I Would Go Root For Fitz If He Were Not:)
1. a Vacker
2. unable to control his temper

That was a shock, right? I will now explain: Here's my logic:
My whole conversion to Team Keefe was because of Sophitz's break up then Fitz's reaction. At first, I shipped Sophitz while they were ¿sort of? dating and my heart was broken alike with Sophie's when they split. I thought about why they broke up. While many think it was Sophie's fault (and it may be just a little), it was really mostly Fitz's fault (and partly Oralie's for donating her DNA). The reason why Fitz pushed so hard (though he tried not to, he really did) for Sophie to register and find her biological parents was because of pride. Fitz is a Vacker. A bad match would be the end of their good reputation, along with the Alvar thing and the 'Vacker Legacy'. He could pretend to not care about Sophie being unmatchable, but the truth is, he does care. Just like Alden, Fitz is a proud elf. Because of his very exceptional academic Foxfire record, the incredibly promising descrying reading, multiple other achievements, and just being a Vacker, he wants to live up to those high expectations. I have no doubts that Fitz really does care for Sophie, but if hurting his reputation (and the Vacker reputation) gets in the way of being with Sophie, then that's a deal breaker for me as it should be with Sophie.

The second reason is (as you all have probably guessed I was going to say this unlike the other reason) that Fitz is unable to control his anger. I, personally, am more of the person who resorts to feeling sad and lonely and generally feeling sorry for myself when something bad happens instead of taking out my non-existent anger on other people. I, again, personally need someone I can relate to, so that is why I am on Team Keefe (though not the only reason). Fitz has said some not-so-good things to Sophie in response to something that upset him. Now, that might be the only way to calm down for some people, but it's usually better to write the things down instead of say them, then once you don't mean them anymore, burn the paper (or make sure that no ever reads it), because it's better to let out feelings then to bottle them up, just try not to hurt anyone in the process. Fitz, unfortunately, has not discovered this method, and has resorted to yelling out his feelings. While some might tolerate this, whether they don't care, or are desensitized to it, Sophie was heart-broken as a result of their fail-relationship. (Though I not-so-secretly think she was glad, not because she didn't like Fitz, but because the dating thing was so complicated and it made things awkward between them [although things weren't much better afterward either]) In conclusion, direct anger is a poor way to respond to things and Fitz just can't control it.

This isn't technically a reason but I just want to add this (P.S. this is about to get really sassy). After their breakup/after everything got settled in Loanmore, Fitz had the audacity to ask for forgiveness and for his girlfriend back, while Sophie had an unconscious Keefe and a million other concerns to deal with at the moment. Like, you just dumped me, avoided me, immediately picked the team I was not on, then you come crawling back hoping for forgiveness and you expect me to just fall into your arms. I hate to break it to you, but I'm going to need a lot more than that for you to make it up to me. I need my space.

Here are the reasons why I chose Keefe:
1. He legitimately cares for Sophie.
(Heads up people, this is the number one reason why you should like people, they care for you and you care for them, not for money, not for fame, not for looks)
Keefe cared for Sophie. He hides his feelings so that Sophie and Fitz could be happy (epic fail), he is a good friend, he doesn't care about her matchmaking status, he would date her even if that would make them a bad match, he related to Sophie, he knows Sophie better than Sophie knows herself.

Now it is possible that I have an obsession (again, again, previously mentioned above) with Keefe but probably not because I can find one fault: he has terrible decision making skills!
