Mark asked:

Audiobook Question - Is there a backstory about the change in narrator from Dick Hill to Scott Brick? Haven't started listening yet and will try to keep an open mind, but the voice of Dick Hill has become integrally associated with Reacher since I switched to audiobooks.

Chase When I saw that Scott was doing the previous book, I sent the following email to Dick Hill:

Audible is showing that Scott Brick is narrating the next Jack Reacher novel. While I love Scott, YOU are Jack Reacher. Please tell me this is just a mistake.

This was his reply:

Not a mistake. I told Lee and Penguin that I was retiring, tearing out my little booth to gain a few more square feet for painting, which is what I’m now pursuing, trying to become competent and loving the challenges. Also we’re both loving the freedom, no more engineering or research for Susie, no more recording for me. Scott will be a different Reacher certainly, but he’ll make it his. I couldn’t have been happier to know they’d asked him, and he’s the kind of class guy that her reached out to me before accepting. Your love of him is well placed, both as an artist and human being.

Best,

dick
Conroy Cunningham I miss Dick Hill but I much prefer Scott Brick to Jeff Harding who has also been narrating the Reacher books.
