To be honest, I don't know. I have been lucky in the years I began writing, and I think I owe that to subject research; I started off with an idea and as I discovered something new, it prompted new ideas. I started off wondering if I'd even make 50,000 words, but instead I ended up with a six-book series with over 100,000 in each one.
