Goodreads asked Alka Joshi:

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Alka Joshi I've been trying to think of an answer to this question, but most of the books I've loved have to do with messy childhoods or fraught family relationships or 18th century England with chamberpots and corsets or WWII Europe with internment camps or rural village women of Asia, so I don't really want to be in any of these worlds. Hmm. I guess the Batswana of Alexander McCall Smith would be the winner. I'd be eating fruitcake (which I don't even like) and drinking bush tea (which I've never tasted) in the shade with Precious Ramotswe.
