What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kate Gordon Initially, follow your heart. Write what makes you happy. There is SO much advise about how to write, what to write, how to publish, etc, that it gets overwhelming. Don't worry about all that at the start. Just write for the joy of creating a story. Use that joy to carry you through the hard slog of finishing the first draft of a novel. Then you can learn more about craft as you polish and edit.
