I'm working on book two in The Unicorn King series, Sasha and the Warrior Unicorn. It features the second of the three friends, Sasha, and Sigvard who is the unicorn king's brave lieutenant.
I'm absolutely loving being back in the unicorns' world and figuring out how they're going to rescue their patron, the good witch Celestina, and why Celestina's brother, Perseus, wants to keep her captive. Every good story needs a villain, right? Making sure we understand why Perseus is compelled to do evil things is a lot of fun to nut out.

Initially, follow your heart. Write what makes you happy. There is SO much advise about how to write, what to write, how to publish, etc, that it gets overwhelming. Don't worry about all that at the start. Just write for the joy of creating a story. Use that joy to carry you through the hard slog of finishing the first draft of a novel. Then you can learn more about craft as you polish and edit.
