What's your process of writing a book? Do you plan out all characters first, for example, etc?

Daniel Kelly To a degree, I do know most of my characters beforehand, alot I base physical appearance on people I know, it makes it easier to visualise them which I think is important but I don't plan alot, I like to let the characters do their own thing and let the story grow with what feels natural
