Lavonna Sanders
Lavonna Sanders asked Barbara Ebel:

Why did you use the Outlander physician in your title? Isn't that infringing?

Barbara Ebel Hi Lavonna, thanks for the question. Titles are not copyrighted, so there's no infringement. As a matter of fact, after I published "Downright Dead," within a few months an author used the same title for their book.

My main protagonist is the "outlander" physician. Her background is diverse. She comes from an unusual island nation, then immigrates to the U.S. where she lives on L.I., NY, but then travels and works in different states as a Locum tenens physician (random, part-time assignments). I thought "outlander" would help describe her life-style!

Have a nice day!
