A physician, speaker, and former chemist, Barbara Ebel's writing draws heavily from her experience as an anesthesiologist, her dealings with family court, and her interactions with people and places from around the world.

Since Ebel writes credible medicine into the background of her novels and her O.R. scenes shine, it's no wonder that the first Dr. Danny Tilson Novel, Operation Neurosurgeon, was the top finalist for best-selling medical mystery books in 2012 (Best Selling Books' blog announced on PR Buzz Press Release Wire, Chicago, IL) and that Book Three, Collateral Circulation, was the National Indie Excellence Award 2015 Finalist for medical thrillers. In addition, her second book in the Dr. Annabel Tilson series, Deadly Delusions, was

I just lost Chester in 2017 and I'm still grieving. Yes, we was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and was a certified therapy dog who worked with both seniors and children. But he also worked due to his children's book series because we would be invited for book events all over.

I have always had several dogs but the Chesapeake was that one special dog who I'll keep special in my heart. He was so loyal to me, it was outstanding.

As I write/work at my desk each day, his ashes sit beside me.

Barbara Ebel Chester the Chesapeake: Summertime is perfect reading for children's summer vacation!

Children can also visit Chester at his own web site:

Barbara Ebel Here is what the Midwest Review says about Operation Neurosurgeon: You never know ... who's in the OR:

“In Operation Neurosurgeon,” novelist Barbara Ebel brings a very special expertise to her writing because of her ‘day job’ is being a board certified anesthesiologist. The result is a meticulous and knowledgeable accuracy in background details making for an especially riveting read from first page to last. Neurosurgeon Danny Tilson’s medical expertise wasn’t enough to keep his beloved daughter from dying from complications associated with her asthma. This family tragedy is compounded when he becomes the target of a seductress The affair shatters his life further as he leaves his job and family and becomes a vagrant to avoid the lawyers and their lawsuits. The only thing remaining is to deal with the evil woman who preyed upon him in his grief and led to ruin. “Operation Neurosurgeon” is a highly recommended addition to personal reading lists and community library contemporary fiction collections.

Here are some reviews on Doctor Barbara's children's books:

“Chester, the fun-loving Chesapeake, never ceases to amaze me with his ability to teach the young at heart, as well as the old, about acceptance, guidance, and love. Great books for all ages!”
Danielle Collins, Ed.D, Federal Programs Supervisor, DeKalb County School System, TN.

“Chester has so much energy and enthusiasm for life he is able to grab the attention of even the youngest reader and keep it until the end of the story. Along the way, Chester teaches many lessons to children and adults alike!”
Jill Wheeler, First Grade Teacher, Findlay Elementary School, Sparta, TN
