Goodreads asked Christopher Bussard:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Christopher Bussard What I have found to work when stumped by writer's block is to step away. I find that my brain keeps working when I'm trying not to think about what I want to write. I have a sentence or two that will pop in my head as something I want to say. I write it down in my notebook, and the next time I sit down to write, I type out what I wrote in my notebook verbatim and the thought continues to pour out. The reason I copy it word for word is that I can always come back to edit, but this allows my brain to free-flow instead of trying to find out the best way to say what I already wrote down.
