I read it at 13 or 14 (it was right around my birthday so i’m not totally sure) and loved it! i do think if i had read it a couple years earlier it would’ve scared me though. BUT, i’ve been encouraging my 12 year old sister to read it and i think she would be fine. just know there are themes of murder, rape, sexual relations between a teen and an adult, drug use, among others. also keep in mind the books progressively get darker, especially in the 3rd book which involves a serial killer. i think most kids could read it at 13.(less)
