The punch card eagle from the Fated Sky: was this kind of origami the sort of thing people did with punch cards back in the day, and/or is this something you've created before (from pieces of paper, not necessarily punch cards)? In my head I can't exactly imagine how it would look. I think it looks too good, maybe.

Mary Robinette Kowal I'm a puppeteer and do a lot of work with paper. This is a mix of Albrecht Roser's paper-folding technique and traditional cut paper. Here's a head that I built out of wood veneer that's similar in concept.
