Idk y'all, I just finished Heir of Fire and I'm feeling Aedion/ Aelin pairing...

Okay here's why I think its NOT Rowan, Dorian, or Chaol:

1. As some people have pointed out, there's the whole mate issue with Rowan. The fact that he had already found his mate is a problem (aww such a sad story) because, if he felt anything for Celaena, it would make her second best immediately. Celaena is not a second best kind of girl. Plus, at the beginning of their training, they both physically and emotionally hurt each other. I know it was to help her prove herself to Maeve and all that, but as each other's prospective mates, that shouldn't have been possible. Secondly, there's the whole Celaena's mate issue. I think that's gonna be a big part in the coming books and I don't think SJM would leave any room for doubt with such a special fae connection. Like I saw the carranam thing coming a mile away. She never claimed she had feelings for him, in fact, she expressly says she doesn't several times. I honestly think she and Rowan have a wonderful friendship, and I think that should stay whole because having feelings for the wrong dudes have pretty much effed Celaena up so far in the novels. Its nice that she has her own support system in Rowan. (Also, the blood oath thing. I don't know if I'd be comfortable being with someone I can literally order around at the drop of a hat if I wanted to.)

2. Its not Dorian because of Sorscha (g-dang it, SJM) and also Celaena and Dorian have left things squarely in the friendship category, which I love. (Dorian even says in HoF that he "thought" he loved Celaena before.) Also, someone on here made the point about them ruling two separate kingdoms, and its true. After all this, Adarlan will need a good and steady king, and an alliance between Terrassen and Adarlan will have to be cemented with their friendship I think.

3. Chaol kind of sucks lol sorry Chaol shippers. He can't handle the deepest parts of Celaena. She needs someone who understands true pain and agony and is a better human being for it. Not someone who was STILL wishy-washy about his loyalties even after being with her and seeing the atrocities the king has committed. Also, in HoF they both basically got over each other and kind of came to terms with it.

NOW, WHY I THINK THE OTP MIGHT BE CELAENA AND AEDION:

1. Got the childhood friendship thing going.
2. He has this amazing devotion to her without even knowing her.
3. They both shoulder the blame for stuff that wasn't their fault.
4. He has forgiven her everything already, even though he assumed the worst from the beginning.
5. He is willing to die (AGAIN, WITHOUT EVEN MEETING HER) to ensure her well-being/happiness (I'm talking about the whole Chaol thing.)
6. His other bloodline would come in handy with a Wendlyn alliance.
7. Bad ass fighter. It was mentioned several times that Chaol was afraid of Aedion and Celaena together, AS A PAIR.
8. Its obvious he loves her with his whole heart already. And HoF mentions that their bloodline is diluted enough for them to marry and it not be weird. Idk.
9. He's always known her as Aelin. He accepts her as Celaena.
10. He's fae as well, and if you think about it, they're so similar. They both shoulder the blame for everything, they both love their country more than they love themselves, they are both willing to sacrifice their lives at the drop of a hat. Idk. To me it sounds like they might be...

MATES?
