What is truth,duty and honor in our life? This book,which I have absolutely adored makes me wonder what are my principles in life? Whom do I have a duty towards and how much. What is considered honorable and how do I get more clarity on my purpose in life? We are living in a society, where what our dharma is seems very blurry. I am a honest person but principles to follow.why wasn't this taught us growing up !

These words are probably going to mean something different for each person, but here is my opinion.
TRUTH:
I guess not lying is absolutely impossible. But we have a choice when to lie. They are-
1.Lie to attain praise or credit.
2.Lie to save yourself, or get out of trouble.
I feel that if someone lies only in scenarios as the second one, then that is the closest a person can get to truth in todays world. Because if one person stops lying completely, then he/she will be disliked by many.

DUTY:
I feel that my duty towards someone else will be as much duty as they have towards me. I wouldn't go through hell for a person who wouldn't do the same for me. So if you want to find what duty you have towards someone, you have to think what duty they have towards you.

HONOR:
Your honor is your respect. Your respect towards a certain idea or philosophy. This can be an individuals choice. But you must think deeply before choosing what you want to honor. It should be something which and is easy to stick to and follow in todays era.
I personally honor the idea "Live free or die".

As for finding a purpose in life...well...I feel every persons purpose in life is to be happy. To be satisfied. And these things only happens when one realizes their potential and uses it to their fullest. This will automatically lead to satisfaction and happiness.

This is my opinion...and I'm only 15, so feel free to disagree and in fact share your opinion as well, so I can refine my own.
