At the end of the book, the evil old woman* dies by carbon monoxide poisoning. It is considered an accident, but I wonder whether the author was hinting that someone killed her, given the other deaths in the book. Like, the caregiver, Tom, or Maude? Did anyone else get this vibe? *Sorry, I can't remember Her name. I listened on audiobook andcan’t really thumb through to find it.
