As a huge fan of you work, I've noticed that several of your characters can be found in your others book and I just LOVE that! I was wondering how did this all start? Was it intentional at first or was it just an accident that turned into something that you always do? :)

It began because I got so many requests for sequels, and I just wasn't interested in writing an entire other book about any of my previous characters. But my readers were so great, and kept asking, so I decided dropping cameos in here and there would be a good way to thank them for reading AND let everyone know that as far as I'm concerned, everyone's okay and the couples are still together and it's all good. It's become a challenge, now, to try to be tricky about hiding them in the book! Everyone finds them right away. :)

Hi Sarah! I've been a long time fan of yours and just picked up a copy of "Just Listen" from the library this week and am excited to read it! I also love to write YA Contemporary and have often been told that my books won't sell because they don't have vampires in them or a dystopian feel... Were you ever told this and how do you try to keep your books standing out in the YA world? Thanks!

From an authors perspective, would you recommend reading a book before seeing the movie adaptation or watching the movie first? I loved How to Deal but after I read Someone Like You and That Summer, I found myself being a little disappointed with the movie! I'm looking forward to seeing The Fault in Our Stars (I know you're a John Green fan!) but I don't know if I should read the book first!. Thoughts?
