Elinor asked Pippa DaCosta:

Hi Pippa ! I have a problem. Yesterday I was so in the mood for a 1000 Revolution book, but I'm up to date with this wonderful series of yours. I was wondering if you had recommendations for books that would have the same feel as this one ?

Pippa DaCosta Hi Elinor. Great question! I'm guessing you want no-nonsense sci-fi that's not bogged down with pages of mind-boggling description. You want fast-paced, action-packed, down and dirty sci-fi, right? Hm, I've checked back through my library, because I know I struggle to find books like this too. Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon comes to mind. It's dark and gritty. BUT, I couldn't get into the second book, at all. However, Altered Carbon can be read as a standalone. Tales of the Ketty Jay by Chris Wooding was AWESOME. It's more steampunk than space opera but full of double-dealing bad good guys. Debt Collector by Susan Kaye Quinn was bloody brilliant (yet more conflicted good-sometimes-bad characters). Justina Robson's Quantum Gravity series starts off brilliant (feels like urban fantasy mixed with sci-fi) - it gets a little OUT THERE with subsequent books, but the cyborg female mc is bad ass! That should keep you going for a while. Let me know how you get on with them ;)
