asked:
How come if the book Winter is less pages than the book Cress, how come it is going to take so long until its publication? Is research needed or is there some kind of delay, maybe it's going to be published around that time for the next christmas because of the ironic name of the book? I'm not sure but it would be interesting to know.

The page number listed there is not accurate: it's an approximation based on her previous books. On her blog, Marissa Meyer has stated that WINTER is the biggest book out of them all, and she won't reveal how big until closer to the publication date. Also, page number has nothing to do with how slow or fast something is published: it is based on the author and the publisher's release schedule. Hope this helped!

Cress has 550 pages.
Winter has 824 pages.
It was confirmed about a month ago by Marissa Meyer, so I am pretty sure it is true. There we have 3 confirmed conclusions:
1. The book Winter is bigger than Cress
2. Winter is coming
3. Winter is going to be epic.
Who agrees?

The amount of pages has changed from 400 to 800

The publishing industry doesn't publish faster or slower based on the number of pages. There's a whole process - receiving the full manuscript, edits back and forth with the author, designing the cover, designing the pages, formatting the type, production, marketing, and promotion. The whole process usually takes 1-2 years, from a manuscript reaching the editor's desk to the book in your hands.

The publication date for Winter got pushed back because Marissa Meyer is releasing another book, Fairest, in January 2015. That means we get 2 Lunar Chronicles books during 2015! Fairest is about Queen Levana's backstory.

Winter has 824 pages, almost longer than the longest Harry Potter book (870 pages), and I don't think Cress was anything near 824 pages!

I'd say that the page number actually is 800, as it states that both here and on Amazon. I'm not sure if that's accurate, but it could be a good guess considering, throughout Cinder to Cress, the page range significantly increased. I wouldn't be surprised if it is 800 (but I would EXTREMELY happy :D :D )
Mariam
Actually, Cinder has 87,000 words, Scarlet has 99,000, Cress has 138,000 words and Winter has 206,000

The book has over 800 pages, so you'd better have a lot of spare time to read it. But sometimes, books take more time to research and write than others that are 2 times its length, especially a conclusion book such as Winter. Authors need to take time to plan out and decide what the characters are going to turn out to be like, how the setting will change as a result of the character's doings, and how the relationships between characters will lie at the end. But I must admit, after the moderate lengths of the previous 3 books, I was a little intimidated by the... Hefty dosage of pages. Totally worth the time though; a conclusion worth reading through, by all means.

Mishka
Just read it. It was over 800 pages! The biggest in the series. The long book totally justified the long wait
Mia Meaney
Winter has like 300 more pages...
