Just desserts. You are made to dislike him and want him to be implicated. Bad behavior should be punished. And so we put a pendulum over his head. No one comes away unscathed. What goes around comes around.
I hope there is not a sequel but the end suggests that it is not over until the fat lady sings.

Robert is a really evil psychopath. Now that’s he’s been cleared of Amanda’s murder, he’s afraid Becky has the burner phone which details how abusive he really is. He’s going after Becky. I don’t think she will be alive much longer. I thought the writing in this book was much better than some of her other books - more showing, less telling.
Samantha
I didn't either! What was on that burner phone that was so important???

I'm not sure what you are questioning. Adam killed Amanda because his Dad was having and affair with her. Glenda killed Carmine because she thought Carmine was too nosy and would reveal what Adam did.
Or do you mean something else?

I agree Carmine's murder was unnecessary to the story.
THAO NGUYEN
Well, I suggest you read the book again if you didn’t get the ending because everything was explain in the book who is the killer and how he did it with whom that helped him clean up after all.
Jennifer Davis
I was a bit surprised but can live with the cliffhanger even without a sequel. I think maybe it was meant to infer that lots of people live with tension/stress in their lives as a result of decisions made. Just guessing
Judi Zappola
I enjoyed the book and it kept me guessing as to who the murderer was. Who has the phone and what did the last victim really know? What evil is Amanda's husband thinking of doing next.
Bob Seabury
Could be a segue to a new book!
