Holmes lied, threatened and destroyed lives. If that was in pursuit of genuinely life-saving tech, would it be justified? What if it had worked - would that have made any ethical difference?

Efthymis Takos Well, my guess is this: had it really worked and all this information came out, she would still be dismissed from her company, forbidden from running a lab or another company for some years (as happened), and still probably face Court. Ethically, these measures would still not make it right. But then again, how many of today’s medical practices and inventions are based on horrible and unethical experiments? I don’t approve any of those, and I don’t justify them, but in the end of the day I am treated with the products of those unethical practices. It’s so complicated, isn’t it?
