Gracie asked M.C. Beaton:

I follow your posts on Facebook and sometimes I feel like you are describing Agatha and not yourself! Do you ever take an incident from your life and plop it into one of your books? If so, can you tell us an example please? I am very much enjoying "The Blood of an Englishman" at the moment!

M.C. Beaton Yes, I do take bits out of my own life to use in the detective stories. For example, a mineral water company wanted to take away the water from the village spring. The vote lay with the parish council and it was turned down. But, I thought, what if someone had shares in the company and the chairman of the parish council had the deciding vote? Well, he’d end up dead, wouldn’t he?
