Much the same philosophical question Pen faced when slaying fleas in his bed. More order for the bed, great disorder for the fleas... There is a name for that sort of moral accounting, which escapes me just at the moment. But any sufficiently adept 5GU sorcerer would grow adept at it.

First off, thanks for the work. Your books are old friends. I just started rereading "Penric's Demon", and he's just getting to know Desdemona a bit, thinking about what was happening to him, and it came to me that one day I would very much like to read the story of Penric's first imprinting on the next generation. Posting that is the second most fannish thing I've ever done. >grin< Forgive me?
