(view spoiler)[Since spells are just actions and techniques that they are able do accomplish using as little mana as possible, and we've already seen Corin using mana crystals for combat, why doesn't he just create a bunch of crystals and then launch them using transference mana for a rudimentary"crystal storm" spell? Just an idea I got when reading "On The Shoulders Of Titans" after the fight with Saffron. (hide spoiler)]

He could theoretically do something like this, but mana crystals are brittle, and long-ranged physical attacks are generally not particularly effective against anyone with a shroud. Things like ordinary bullets and arrows aren't generally very useful against attuned, either, especially at higher levels. Some characters eventually learn how to work around that problem to some degree (like wrapping energy around bullets to help them pierce defenses), but crystals aren't really effective as weapons, at least most of the time.
There may be ways to make a technique like that work if you could deliberately make crystals that are volatile enough to explode on contact with an enemy shroud, but this would be dangerous and require a level of technical proficiency beyond what Corin currently has.

How does Corin's attunement mark position affect his powers as enchanter?

why are enchanters such poor fighters? Is it a matter of the attunement? Some of your most dangerous fighters focus on motion/transference magic and mental magic allows for combat premonitions. I would think that someone who was fast and knew what was coming would be very dangerous in a close in fight.
