why are enchanters such poor fighters? Is it a matter of the attunement? Some of your most dangerous fighters focus on motion/transference magic and mental magic allows for combat premonitions. I would think that someone who was fast and knew what was coming would be very dangerous in a close in fight.

They're generally considered more useful for creating magical items than being on the front lines, since providing soldiers with magical gear is a force multiplier, and one Enchanter can outfit a large group of people over time.
