Derek Christensen asked Andrew Rowe:

why are enchanters such poor fighters? Is it a matter of the attunement? Some of your most dangerous fighters focus on motion/transference magic and mental magic allows for combat premonitions. I would think that someone who was fast and knew what was coming would be very dangerous in a close in fight.

Andrew Rowe It's not that Enchanters are bad fighters - it's that the specialized function of their attunement is designed for manufacturing, and thus, that's what they're primarily trained for. They're generally considered more useful for creating magical items than being on the front lines, since providing soldiers with magical gear is a force multiplier, and one Enchanter can outfit a large group of people over time.
