Mary Beth Keane Thanks, No, that was one of the last scenes I wrote, probably because I was a little afraid I wouldn't be able to pull it off. In an early draft I didn't ever put them in a room together, but that seemed like chickening out so I decided to draft their encounter and see if there was any energy there. Once I figured out a realistic way it might happen - nothing melodramatic, I eliminated a planned meeting early on - it felt right and true. Among other things, I wanted to capture a missed opportunity for friendship.
