The Bayview Four all appear in the sequel, to varying degrees. Nate and Addy appear the most, followed by Bronwyn and Cooper. Because one of the POV character's is Bronwyn's sister Maeve, it helps to weave the original characters through the book quite a lot. The other two new characters are classmates of Maeve's.
Ariana
the main characters are bronwyn's sister maeve, knox (maeve's best friend and ex), and phoebe (addy's neighbor.) But Bronwyn, Nate, Addy, and Cooper are still (somewhat) main characters.
Sophie
It is a different set of characters except the originals are sometimes mentioned. Maeve if you remember from the first book is one of the three in this book. Knox and phoebe the two others are also main characters.
