Horror for Newbies

I read this and really loved it. It just kept moving along and was never boring or felt plotty. just was with the characters the whole time. can anyone recommend books on this level? that keep you glued to it like this one? thanks.

It's a suspenseful, character-driven mystery/crime thriller. Not sure what you're into but this is worth a read. Also I like Patricia Gibney's book series with detective Lottie Parker. Lots of twists and turns, character-driven, you will get hooked. (less)
