I am not 100% sure what you mean in specific but it is set in the past. Its for middle school and high school and even adults would enjoy it! The book is very cleverly put together and the mystery is not babyish. The whole series is my most favorite series in the WORLD! After you finsih this series the series Taylor & Rose is the sequel and it is also amazing. :)
