There is something delightfully selfish about Agatha that endears her to me on the page - although in person, she might be a bit prickly to handle if in a mood. After working through a novel, do you tend to cleanse your writerly palate and work on a different set of characters and problems, or do you prefer to remain in one setting and work on several pieces in a row?

I think Agatha is my favorite character. Probably because she's not all that pretty but makes herself as attractive as she can, and you write about the cost, in terms of uncomfortable shoes, too-short skirts, facial masks, makeup, etc. I love Agatha's feistiness! But I want to ask, what made you decide to START writing? Was it scary wondering if your first book would be published?
