Ellen asked this question about After the End:
OK. Did this book end with Pip remarrying Max? (Not including Leila's last chapter). Because in Pip's next-to-last section, Max was moving back to the US to be with Blair. "And, as the service begins, the room disappears and it's just me, Max and Grace, and the registrar, making us all a family again." I am totally confused and feel stupid. Any thoughts?
Saadikah Yes, Pip remarried Max. It's very clear from the line "... and then from the front of the room, Lars" turns" to look at me...." If he was standing at …moreYes, Pip remarried Max. It's very clear from the line "... and then from the front of the room, Lars" turns" to look at me...." If he was standing at the altar, he wouldn't have to turn. And Lars name is mentioned after Pip sees Tom, Alistair and Darcy, meaning she was looking at the guests first.

Further, Pip says she wanted to run towards the man she was marrying," although" it was Grace who sees Max and runs.

Pretty clear from the authors words used, but I had to re read that chapter again myself as it was confusing. (less)
