Why is the Hundred Oaks series written about sports? No doubt, I love your books, but just out of curiosity.

Sports were a big part of my life when I was growing up, so I guess I have gravitated toward writing about them. However, not all of the books in the Hundred Oaks world will be about sports. I don't consider Things I Can't Forget to be about sports (although, I guess you could consider camping to be a sport). My next book is going to be about music. Thanks for your question!

When thinking about a new book, do the story or the characters come up first for you? For example, do you think about the personality of one of the characters and build the subject/story around it or you think the story first and the characters start showing up after? Love your books. Thanks! xx
