Did Evan survive? I know that Nicole says "Let's go see Daddy. He's waiting for us". However, she also refers to getting married as "holding that kind of event makes no sense now, and they'd never be able to mark an anniversary anyway".

If he's dead, then "he's waiting for us" seems to me to imply that they are also expecting to die soon, but they are carrying on and intend to survive.(less)
